2010: a year in review (part 1)

january:
g and i started off 2010 with a panama cruise.  we visited honduras, costa rica, and panama.  the weather in maimi was cold, but it was absolutely perfect farther south!  the panama canal is truly amazing and one of the greatest wonders of the world, in my opinion.  while we were on the cruise, my friend teresa's dear mason passed away.  my heart broke for her loss.  shortly after the cruise, we decided to add to our family and adopt emerson.  he was a lover right from the beginning! 

 

february:

we took our moms to london for their very first visit to our favorite city.  we hit all the highlights, including buckingham palace, westminster abbey, house of parliament, tower of london, and picadilly circus.  we also went to hampton court, a first for g and myself.  g took his mom to see wicked, and my mom and me went to see billy elliot.  we were extremely fortunate and were upgraded on our flight to AND from london.  thanks american airlines!  although it was a quick trip, we all had a great time.  

 
march:
we had been living in our condo for over 6 months and had done numerous things to it, here and there.  we finally decided to invite some friends over to celebrate our housewarming by stocking up our bar.  it was great to share our home with our friends!  the sun was starting to make an appearance in chicago, giving us home that the dreary winter months were almost behind us. 

april:
we spent most of this month working, gearing up for future travel (and paying off past!).   

may:
g and i took off for a 9-day bermuda and caribbean cruise that left from new york city.  the trip was amazing and we spent most of it on a beach!  the pink sand in bermuda and the vivid blues in grand turk were beautiful!  after the cruise we went to charlotte to visit teresa.  although it was a bit of a struggle, we made it and had a great time together!  dad achieved his goal by receiving his college diploma.  i'm glad i was there to see him walk across the stage to accept his accomplishment!  

june:
we spent the month enjoying the summer in the city!  we celebrated g and annie's birthday together!  we had originally planned a trip to hawaii at the end of the month, but opted for a staycation and invited our niece and nephew to come up and stay with us for the week!
