jack & bobby

 jack & bobby was a television series that i thoroughly enjoyed and miss dearly.  it was only on for one season in 2004-2005.  it was a show about two brothers who were raised solely by their mother, an extremely liberal college professor.  you learned that one son would be president and throughout each episode, there would be a flash forward to the year 2041 where one of the president's advisers or close friends would talk about his past and how it influenced his presidency. 

i watched this show each week and loved watching the close relationship between the two brothers, even through their high school years filled with angst and annoyance.  their mother, played by christine lahti, did a superb job of adding to the interesting plot of the show.  (and my introduction to bradley cooper and his hotness was a nice treat, too!)

i'm unsure why this show never "took off" and was canceled after only one season.  thankfully it's available for streaming viewing on netflix!  so today, andrea and i are going to settle in for a jack & bobby marathon!
