room
by emma donoghue
wow. what a great read. while it took me a while to get through this book, i think that subconsciously i was trying to stretch out this amazingly good read. told from the perspective of the child, room is about a girl who is abducted and later gives birth to her captor's child. the book is told by jack, the child, who knows only of Room until his escape to "Outside".
it's almost read as a psychological thriller in the way that jack is forced to learn about "Outside" and his fear and confusion by all that exists outside of Room. room is a great read and makes me want to read jaycee dugard's book, stolen life.
{while i know that i skipped book #12 and never posted about reading betty white's if you ask me: (and i know you won't), it was a great read!}
