soon, we will put up our christmas tree and decorate for the holiday season. it's one of my favorite things to do this time of year. i like to turn on christmas music, pour a glass of wine, and unpack the decorations, finding things i had forgotten all about! for the past few years, we have basically decorated our tree the same way each year, putting up the same decorations. i've never done a particular themed tree or used only certain colors throughout. this year, i had contemplated about decorating the tree using red and silver as the primary colors. i began thinking about it, knowing it could get a bit expensive since i'd have to buy some new decorations. then there would be the issue of omitting particularly sentimental decorations that have become a tradition on the tree. i've realized it's probably best to stick to what we have and what we enjoy being on our christmas tree.
my favorite holiday traditions:
- decorating the tree for christmas
- listening to holiday music
- hanging the stockings on the mantle
- drinking peppermint martinis out of my christmas martini glasses
- spending time with friends
- sitting in a dark room with only the christmas tree lights glowing
- wrapping presents to put under the tree
- sending out christmas cards
- sitting under a warm blanket with a glass of red wine
- watching my favorite holiday movies
- remembering past christmas' as a child
- creating new memories and traditions with g
