it's march 1, the time of year that we wish for winter to go away and spring to arrive. luckily, we didn't have a hard winter, but it always seems long and dreary regardless. so this is when i start to look forward to the warmer months, the time i can enjoy my city to its fullest!
i love my neighborhood and since moving to chicago, i have frequented many of the restaurants, shops, and bars nearby. thankfully, even more businesses are moving into the area! i have a feeling that i will be found at many of these places on warm, summer days.
here are the top three establishments i look forward to visiting this summer:
1. tiny lounge
friends had already visited tiny lounge and highly recommended it to me. the first time i went there i fell in love with everything about it. tiny lounge has a zen-like feel. it's trendy without one ounce of pretentiousness. the food is amazing and the drink selection provides many options. i fell in love with tiny lounge so much that i found myself there three nights in a row! and it was perfect for every occasion - dinner and drinks with a new friend, relaxing glass of wine with andrea, and after dinner drinks with a group of friend.
2. fountainhead
this restaurant & bar has yet to open, but i cannot wait until it does. fountainhead is literally two buildings down from my first apartment in chicago. i always wished for something fantastic to go in there instead of the old vacant building that sat there while i lived around the corner. the thing that i look forward to about fountainhead is the upstairs, outdoor seating. it will overlook the street below, the neighborhood i love so fondly!
3. in fine spirits
i have been to this place one time with some friends. in fine spirits has an amazing wine list that is changed often. this wine bar/shop is located in andersonville, a short walk from where we live. i've been wanting to go back often, and when i discovered they have a large, outdoor patio i was sold! i cannot wait to spend summer afternoons sipping a glass of my favorite pinot outside on the patio!
