the queen city
if you follow golf, you'll know that the quail hollow championship is going on in charlotte, nc. even though i could care less about golf (and even less about tiger woods and his drama), i get a little excited when i hear about this tournament. why? because i used to live around the corner from the quail hollow country club.
we found our apartment after our first trip to charlotte and subsequently getting lost in what we later found out to be the south park neighborhood. it was a cute, curvy and tree shaded area of south charlotte. hidden among the numerous business complexes, there was plenty of shopping to do in the area.
a year after we lived in the area, the quail hollow golf championship premiered. i remember news stations descending on the area. local homeowners were renting out there houses for spectators and players for a large price tag. i remember my grandpa calling me when he saw the tournament on tv and i told him that i lived very close nearby!
so now when i see this tournament taking place each year, it reminds me of my former city and the fond memories i have of charlotte. i'm very fortunate that teresa still lives there and welcomes me to her home to visit. g and i are making a trip to charlotte at the end of may and i'm very excited to show him my old stompin' grounds! even more, i cannot wait for him to FINALLY meet teresa!!
note to self (and g): start looking for things we want to do on saturday because teresa prefers her guests suggest things to do during their stay!
