summertime in the city

at the beginning of march, i wrote about three places that i planned to frequent this summer. after this past weekend, i have finally checked all three off the list.

while i haven't been to tiny lounge since my first couple visits in the spring, i still love it. i hope to make it back there soon to sit outside and enjoy their wonderful food and drinks.

fountainhead, unfortunately, hasn't lived up to everything that i thought it might be. don't get me wrong, when g and i went to have dinner there one night, the food was pretty good. they're supposed to open up their rooftop patio sometime this month. that could make all the difference!

we finally went to in fine spirits this past weekend. every other saturday, they have wine tasting in the shop. after a quick tasting of five delicious wines, we made our way next door to the lounge where we sat outside on the patio. combine great friends, chicago summer, and white wine and you have the recipe for heaven! we had purchased a groupon a few months back for $50 worth of food and drinks here, so our final bill was extremely affordable! it was a great afternoon!

while i don't want to think about it at all, i feel like the summer is already starting to slip away. it's already mid-july and there's still so much i want to do around the city before the frigid temperatures rear its ugly head.

coming up: ravinia, a rooftop party, market days, and fireworks on a sailboat!
